Feds charge 2 in ATM skimming scheme; BECU customers targeted

Federal prosecutors have targeted two Redmond men suspected of "skimming" credit cards at a BECU cash machine and using account information stolen in Europe to steal thousands from two Bothell banks.
Filing charges earlier this month in U.S. District Court at Seattle, prosecutors contend Ion Armeanca, 44, and Dan Petri, 34, doctored a Ballard ATM to steal users' account information and PIN numbers. According to charging documents, both were arrested after they were seen withdrawing thousands of dollars at two Bothell banks......
